EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – It was a lopsided affair for the SIUE Cougars women’s basketball team, who defeated Morehead State by a score of 76-58 at the Vadalabene Center on Saturday afternoon.
With the win, SIUE improves their overall record to 4-15 and 2-8 in conference play, breaking their two-game losing streak. Morehead State falls to 7-13 and 2-8 in the OVC, extending their losing streak to 4 games.

The Cougars scored in double figures, but KK Rodriguez led the team in scoring. Rodriguez had an efficient shooting night (8-11 FG, 2-3 3PT, 1-1 FT), who also picked up 3 assists and 2 steals. Sophomore Ava Stoller scored a season-high 17 points (6-9 FG, 5-5 FT), along with 2 rebounds and 4 assists. Junior Macy Silvey managed 16 points on 6-11 shooting, making 4 three-pointers in 7 attempts.
Morehead State’s Chrishawn Coleman (9-18 FG, 2-2 3PT) was the highest-scoring Eagle. Coleman put up 21 points, 2 rebounds, and 4 assists. Freshman Maia Rosarion was one point away from a double-double, managing 9 points and 10 rebounds.

The Cougars will face Lindenwood (12-7, 8-2 OVC) in Saint Charles on Thursday, January 30, where tip-off is scheduled for 5:00 PM. Lindenwood has won their last three games, and has gone 6-1 over the past seven.
Morehead State will play USI (15-6, 7-3 OVC) Tuesday, January 28 with their home crowd.
