NFL legend Tom Brady and seven-time NASCAR champ Jimmie Johnson are teaming up to make an entry for the 2025 Indianapolis 500, along with renowned open-wheel specialist Sébastien Bourdais, as repoted by Tony Donohue on his podcast.

Bourdais' Comeback

After three years, the 45-year-old Frenchmen Bourdais will make his return back to INDYCAR. Bourdais has enjoyed success racing these style of cars, including winning the Champ Car (now INDYCAR series) for four straight years between 2004 and 2007 for Newman/Haas Racing.

His success in the premier American open-wheel series would lead to F1, finding a ride with Toro Rosso, where he only managed six points in 27 starts.

Bourdais then returned back to INDYCAR, where he enjoyed moderate success, winning six more races but never finishing better than 7th in the season standings.

Bourdais also has some experience in sports car racing, winning the 12 Hours of Sebring in both 2015 and 2021, as well as multiple Rolex 24 wins.

Johnson's Brickyard Experience

Jimmie Johnson is no stranger to Indianapolis, winning on the 2.5 mile oval four times in NASCAR competition. He made his INDYCAR debut in 2022, finishing 28th after a late-race crash. He led two laps in the 500-mile affair.
