Second Half
After the half, Lindenwood got out of the gates quick, going on a 17-0 run. Nathan Johnson Jr. converted two free-throws to give Lindenwood their first lead of the game early in the second half. Tennessee State fought back to cut the lead down to 2 with 14 minutes left, but Lindenwood responded, bringing their lead to 11 with 9:47 left in the game. Lindenwood’s offense provided them enough power to keep their lead at 5 points with 1:27 left in the game. Futrell made a clutch steal inside the last minute of the game, and went on to knock down crucial free throws that sealed the win for the Lions at a score of 72-62. Lindenwood ultimately shot 50% on field goals as well as three-pointers in the second half, in contrast to Tennessee State going 11-27 from the field and only 1-10 from behind the arc.
