EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – SIUE Women’s basketball lost its sixth straight game 74-58 to Tennessee Tech Saturday, January 11 at First Community Arena. SIUE was led by Jaiden Bryant (12 PTS, 6-6 FT, 6 REB) and Brianna Wooldridge (12 PTS, 3-8 FG, 4 REB).

The Cougars connected on 19 of their 58 shots (32.8%) and shot 30% (3-10 3PT) from behind the arc. SIUE was out-rebounded 31-47, which only allowed the Cougars to manage 7 second-chance points to TTU’s 14.

It was a balanced scoring effort from Tennessee Tech, with all five starters managing to tally double figures. Freshman Chloe Larry led the charge for the Golden Eagles, managing to chart a double-double scoring 21 points (6-12 FG, 3-6 3PT) and grabbing 10 rebounds. Forward Anna Walker also notched a double-double with 14 rebounds and 11 points.

Tennessee Tech will face SEMO (4-11, 2-4 OVC) on Thursday, Jan 16. The Cougars, on the other hand, will hope to pick up their first conference win against Tennessee State’s home crowd on Thursday, where tip-off is scheduled at 5:00 PM. Tennessee State (4-12, 0-6 OVC) has also been struggling as of late, with no conference wins and losing their last 8 straight.
